The ?rumor? is of course that unless Congress gets a handle on the debt ceiling and more importantly, structural significant changes to the way the country spends money, this nation?s credit rating would suffer and with that comes higher interest rates.
Higher interest rates puts downward pressure on home prices (all other things being equal).? But as so often happens, the perception of fear is worse than the reality.? My gut feeling is that something will get worked out and the AAA credit rating of the USA will remain intact.
BUT RIGHT NOW is when the fear is the greatest ? it?s the ?rumor? that maybe the deal doesn?t get done.
AND RIGHT NOW is the best time to make an offer on a bank owned home.? With the average days on market of 76 days for the bank owned homes for sale on the Peninsula, I?ve got a strong feeling that these banks are just waiting for the next offer to come in to make the deal.
