Apple and Samsung both agree to drop lots of patent-infringement ...

Apple and Samsung have dramatically reduced the number of patent-infringement claims they have filed against each other.

Following judge?s orders, Apple said it will narrow down its claims against Samsung, cutting them in half. While Samsung has agreed to drop five of the 12 patents it has set against Apple, reducing?claims by 80 percent.

Both companies hope that this will help retain the proposed July 30 trial date as it will be much more manageable for both the judge and the jury.
