Stowaway 1812 Wine Launch
Colio Estate Wines, Cooper?s Hawk Vineyards, Pelee Island Winery, Oxley Estate Winery and Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery cordially invite you to the launch of Stowaway 1812, a regional collaborative line of wines commemorating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. The launch will be at the Provincial Marine Commissariat located at 224 Dalhousie Street, Amherstburg, Ontatrio on Thursday July 4, 2012 at 11:30 am. This signature line of 6 distinct wines within 1 region are limited edition collectors items that will augment the experience of visitors to both our wine region and our 1812 region.
From July 19 to September 1, 2013 a special barrel of one Stowaway1812 varietal will be stowed away aboard Liana?s Ransom, one of the Tall Ships participating in the August 30-September 2 Coastal Trails: Sails to See Tall Ships Festival in Windsor, Amherstburg, Kingsville and Pelee Island. This special barrel will travel the great lakes throughout the Tall Ships 1812 Tour.
Each winery will produce a different wine varietal, with each winery highlighting an 1812-era Tall Ship. Each wine is one of a collection of six and can be purchased starting July 4, 2013 at participating wineries.
The six participating wineries will launch and provide tastings of the STOWAWAY 1812 wine line.

Fork & Cork 2013

Drinks of Walkerville walking tour
On Saturday, July 6, 2013,?enjoy a fan favourite walking tour in Old Walkerville as we start off at the Canadian Club Brand Centre as we take in the history of the building and brand before sampling the Mad Men character?s drink of choice, Canadian Club Whisky.
After learning all the about history full of famous (and infamous) characters that were big fans of the Canadian Club brand, we take a stroll through Olde Walkerville discovering it?s architecture as well as some well known and not?so well known tales associated with the area.
We then will visit Walkerville Brewery and sample their beers while being walked through the facility and learning about the brewing process.
From the brewery we head to The Willistead where we?ll be treated to some more beverages. Scotch perhaps? Bourbon? Much like the ever changing menu at the popular restaurant, it?ll be a surprise!

Enjoy a scenic ride on your bike to Essex Pelee Island Coast wineries for tastings and enjoy a meal at the final stop.
Route for July 20 is approximately 20km and includes: Colio Estate Wines, Oxley Estate Winery, Colchester Ridge Estate Winery.
Each Wine Trail Ride includes tastings at each winery, tours and a really great meal. A support vehicle will also be on hand and will be able to bring back the wine purchased from the wineries back to our starting point. Tickets are limited and sell quickly.
